My 1st Mother's Day!

This is my first year as a mother.  I'm super excited and proud to carry the title of MOTHER!

Last night while rocking my baby boy to sleep I was thinking about how big he is now and how much he continues to make us smile and laugh.  There's not a day that he doesn't give me a smile and a giggle, even on his worst teething days.  I've also been thinking about how little time in the day I get to spend with my little man and how I stress over getting things done when I get home from work.

I get home at about 5:30 every day and I always say hello to him and my husband, give kisses and hugs and usually go right into dishes, laundry, dinner, or crafting.  UGH... why do I worry about things like this when there may be something new Aaron learned to do that I haven't seen yet.  Here lately, he waves (a little), plays with his sippy cup, babbles and squeals, crawling faster and faster to the pile of empty boxes in the corner, sitting up VERY well on his own, and beginning to stand with some support.  Every day he amazes me more and more.  7 o'clock is bath time, then 8:30 is bed time.  That's 3 hours I get with him a day.  :(

So, for mother's day, I will be taking some time to spend with my son and my husband outside of the house.  That way I have no distractions of things that need to be packed, cleaned, or crafted.  My family will have my UNDIVIDED attention!

I love being a mommy!

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely mothers out there!

Lemon Sugar Scrub - Under The Table and Dreaming

Under The Table and Dreaming has posted a very easy recipe for creating this lemon sugar hand scrub.

This would make an awesome mothers day gift.  I am definitely going to be doing this for my mother and grandmother.

I love her tag but as most of my crafting stuff is packed away due to our moving in 3 weeks I decided that I would make a printable tag for mine.  I wanted to share it with you if you'd like to make some as well.

Another Mother's Day Card

My coworkers were very pleased with the birthday card that I made.  I was a bit nervous because the idea I had for it was something totally different than how it turned out but I wasn't able to get the vintage images printed.  Stupid printer didn't want to cooperate.  So, I just went with what I had.

I was still very pleased with how it turned out but there's one thing I should really work on... my calligraphy.  The tag that says "Life Laugh Love" I actually had a different tag made with 2 stickers, an "H" and a "B" and I was going to right the rest by hand, "Happy Birthday".  Well, it looked pretty sloppy ad I just wasn't having it.

I NEED YOUR HELP...
I am really enjoying making cards and if you have any tips on a better way to do font like this, please, comment me or email me.  I'd love to know some secrets.  I don't have the money to invest in stamps right now but I do plan on doing that one day.  Until then... what can I do?

Just in case you missed yesterday's post here's a pic of the birthday card I did...

And after showing this to another coworker (not the birthday girl) she asked me to make a mother's day card for her to give to her mom.  Here's the outcome of it and I LOVE IT!  Again, I got my vintage images (sheet music and birds image) from The Graphics Fairy. Please, go visit her blog.  She has so much to offer!
