The Creation of The Mini Invitation

I am proud to announce a new "category" in MY SHOP... MINI INVITATIONS!

These are invitations the size of business cards.  The include all of the same information as a regular size invitation will include only smaller.  Here's where I got the idea!

I am terrible with keeping up with invitations I receive in the mail.  Wedding, birthday parties, baby showers, wedding showers, anything.  As much as I wish everyone I knew were more into digital reminders (e-cards, emails, etc), they aren't.  After going for Aaron's doctors appointment and mine I realized the one thing I have always been able to keep up with are the appointment cards from the doctors office.  These are the business cards that have the time and date of your next appointment on the back.  I keep them in my wallet.  I have always tried to keep a pocket calendar handy for writting important dates down but have always failed.

Just the other day I remembered receiving an invitation from a dear friend to her daughters birthday party but I can't find the invitation anywhere.

I created these in hopes that there are LOTS of other people out there like me... disorganized.  LOL!  Seriously though, I can't be the only one.  I love how these turn out.  Not only will they be easier to keep up with but they will also save paper.  There are 10 (TEN!) invitations per page.  If you were to purchase regular size invitations you would be using at least 5 times as much paper as you would with these adorable little creations.

Let me know what you think.  I'm curious to know!

Oh, and check 'em out in my shop!  Right now these are the only 2 I have listed but I will have LOTS more coming soon.

Spring Has Sprung - Not so fast...

We had 2 gorgeous days of sunshine and warm weather... as of right now those days are out of site.  We've had rain and colder weather since then and I'm a little bit  very disappointed!  I'm ready for all that spring brings!

I don't have a new project to show off because this week has been pretty busy and a bit stressful.  I love my job most days but there are some days I begin to wonder if it's really worth it.  I should be thankful to have a job.  Hubby and I discussed that last night... about being thankful for more than I am and I started to tear up a bit because I felt so ashamed for not being thankful for more.  I'm in one of those moods I guess and I've got to snap out of it.  Do you ever get in those moods?

I'm hoping to work on and possibly complete 2 projects by this weekend.  We'll see how it goes because I'm needing some supplies and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to the craft supplies store to get it.

Materials needed:
Mod Podge
Scrapbook paper

As you can see there's not much I need.  I have a ton of glue on hand but I don't think it will serve the purpose properly like Mod Podge would (covering plastic easter eggs with paper).  If you have an alternative to Mod Podge please, leave a comment, I'd love to hear it.

I'm also working on a couple of new items for my shop that I'm excited about.  I need to also take some actual pictures of the products that I have already listed that just have screen shot images.

Busy weekend, again!  What's your plans?

Brown Paper Embellishments

I have never scrapbooked much.  Always wanted to but never had the money to invest in all the supplies necessary.  I created my very first embellishment.  This is a all in one print out.  You just cut and past it all together.  I even created a cute little button (4 holes in the middle have colors that match the circle that it's placed on top of).  Of course you can add some thing to it for more effect.  I happened to have some left over ribbon/netting/mesh stuff that was from a gift basket at Christmas.  So, when I was testing this print out I added that to it for a cute effect.  If you had buttons on hand, you won't have to use the one on the page.  I have some, but none that will match this design.

I simply printed 1 page on regular printer paper and 1 page on cardstock (for the button).

Then I wadded the page (regular printer paper) up to give some texture to each circle. (see my Easter Banner in the background? hehe)
Cut the circles out and hot glued them together.
VOILA, you've got a cute little embellishment.

I was going to add these to my Happy Easter Banner but was happy with it just the way it was.  Once I decide what I'm going to do with these I'll update you.  Like I said, I don't do scrapbooks.  I might give these away with the FREE file to print some off.  We'll just have to see.

Check my store for this listing by Monday!

Happy Easter Banner

I've been seeing banners all over the place in crafty blog land and I was inspired to create a new item for my shop.  I've never done a banner in my home before and thought, why not start now!

I love how this one turned out.  I only wish I had a prettier place to display it for my photos.  I think I'll take a trip to a relatives house that has a gorgeous fireplace/mantel and have my own little photo shoot.  I might even leave my completed project there as a gift since I'm slowly but surely packing up my apartment.

Anyway, enough rambling.  Here's the banner!

I hope you like it.  I'll have this item listed in my shop by Monday.

Customizable Monogramed Note Pad Set - Printable PDF

I am very proud of how this design turned out.  2 files are included in this purchase.  The 1st one includes the large note pad pages.  2 per page measuring 4 x 10.5 each.  The 2nd one includes the small note pad pages.  4 per page measuring 4 x 5.3 each.

Everything in this pack can be customized; letters, color of the polk a dots, the line, the seal behind the letters.  If you see something else on the item that you'd like to be changed a bit that I didn't list, that can be done as well.

Planning Mode

I've got a lot of plans for this little SHOP of mine. I'm really excited about it.

Some things I want to make:
  • Gift boxes for Easter
  • Special Mommy Coupons as gifts for Mother's Day
  • I also want to offer different styles of gift boxes for other Etsy sellers that actually have a product to send out.
I'll be working on some unique gift box templates soon.
